T102 Radio
Side Line Reporter – T102/WPPA Radio
August 2024 – Present
This past fall, I worked as the sideline reporter for T102 Radio in Pottsville, Pennsylvania. I covered Pottsville Area High School’s home and away football games while balancing my coursework, campus involvement, and collegiate softball. Each week, I traveled directly from my classes to games, providing timely updates and insights throughout the broadcast. I gained valuable experience conducting postgame interviews with coaches and players, delivering weather and injury reports, and sharing statistics, game outlooks, and pre-game research with listeners. This opportunity gave me hands-on experience in a live broadcasting environment while helping me strengthen my on-air communication skills and grow my confidence in a professional setting.
Softball Reporting
May 2025 – Present
In this role, I travel to high school softball games throughout the spring season with T102 Radio, covering teams from the district playoffs all the way to the PIAA 3A State Championship at Penn State University. During broadcasts, I provide game coverage, analysis, and updates while bringing the perspective of a current collegiate softball player. I work alongside the broadcast crew to keep listeners informed and engaged, whether they’re tuning in from home or following along at the field. This experience has allowed me to combine my passion for broadcasting with a sport I’ve loved playing my entire life.
Campus Involvement
Through my coursework at Susquehanna University, I have gained experience using professional broadcasting equipment and software, including Zetta and Adobe Audition. As part of my final project for my Audio Productions course this past semester, I created a fictional company and produced two 30-second advertisements and one 60-second advertisement. I was responsible for every aspect of the production process, including writing the scripts, selecting the music and sound effects, directing students to record the voiceovers, and ensured the advertisements maintained a consistent tone and feeling. My fictional company, The Sprinkle Spot, is a fun ice cream shop located in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania.
