The Susky Scoop News
This past year, I founded The Susky Scoop, Susquehanna University’s first student-run news broadcast. With the help of a talented team of students, gained direct experience building and leading a station from the ground up. In this position, I wanted to help create opportunities for students to gain hands-on experience in a professional newsroom environment, not just the opportunities on campus within sports or radio. Through this role, I conducted research on campus and community events, produced broadcast packages, wrote and edited news scripts, coordinated interviews, and managed production schedules and weekly broadcast logistics. The interest in The Susky Scoop has led to it becoming as a practicum credit opportunity for broadcasting majors, becoming a resource for future students pursuing careers in journalism and broadcasting.
