As a contributor for T102 Sports Now, I developed and launched two original feature series, Headlining Her and More Than the Game, to tell meaningful stories that extend beyond traditional sports coverage. Headlining Her highlights the experiences, achievements, and careers of women across the sports industry, featuring interviews with local athletes, coaches, and professionals who are making an impact. More Than the Game explores the side of athletics many don’t see. Within this feature I am helping to cover topics from mental health and injury recovery to the transition to college athletics and personal growth.
Through these projects, I have conducted in-depth interviews, researched various topics, and written feature stories to help bring a new perspective to the Sports Now website. From developing interview questions and forming new relationships, I have strengthened my skills in reporting, interviewing, writing, and sports journalism. Additionally, I have been able to explore new topics I have not been introduced to before. Creating these series has allowed me to spotlight different perspectives, produce meaningful content, and further pursue my passion for storytelling within the sports indsutry.
From January through June 2025, I served as a Writing Intern with VOICEINSPORT while balancing a full academic course load, collegiate softball, and leadership roles in multiple student organizations. During my internship, I produced original written content covering a variety of topics in women’s sports, including athlete stories, current events, mental health, performance, and body image. Beyond writing, I had the opportunity to connect with industry experts, mentors, and professionals through one-on-one calls and educational sessions, gaining valuable insight into careers and emerging topics across the sports industry. These conversations expanded my understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing women in sports while strengthening my skills in journalism, interviewing, research, and storytelling. This experience allowed me to combine my passion for athletics and media while learning from leaders who are making a meaningful impact in the sports world.
